Supreme mantra for Cure and Protection from Diseases
Maha Mrithyunjaya mantra (Mrithyu - Death, Jaya - Victory, Mrithyunaya - Victory of Death) protects your body and soul from all sort of diseases. Chanting this mantra is said to cure existing diseases and form a protection (kavacham) around you. The mantra is very powerful and the results can be felt only when you do it regularly. The more you chant, the more easily it relieves you from ailments.

mrithyor mukshiya maamruthaath

Time to chant this mantra
Being a Maha Mantra, this can be chanted any time during the day with pure devotion. Chanting this mantra in Brahma Muhurtha (before sunrise) will yield extremely powerful results.
The Count
It is said that chanting this mantra for 1,25,000 times is the best way to get rid of any existing ailments. This may sound tedious at first, but once you practice you can achieve this goal easily.
Here is how to achieve the count. First, practice to chant this mantra fluently. Within a day or two you can achieve fluentcy. Once you practice to chant this mantra fluently, you can chant this mantra upto 12-15 times in a minute. So in an hour, you can chant upto 900 times. And for 3 hours you can chant upto 2700 times. So if you chant Maha Mrithyunjaya Mantra for 3 hours a day, you can complete the 1,25,000 chants easily in 48 days (one mandalam).
For those who cannot spend 3 hours continuously a day, try chanting this 90 mins in the morning, and 90 mins in the evening.
For those who are extremely time constrained, try chanting atleast these many times : 9 or 11 or 18 or 27 or 48 or 108 a day.
How to do it
In Bhrahma Muhurtham, take bath, wear fresh clothes, light diya and incense sticks, sit comfortably in front of your pooja room and chant this mantra. You can use a hand counter or Rudraksh mala to keep track of the counts.
